About

Get to know Bondilyn

When I moved to the West Coast in 2014 after 18-years in New Orleans, I embraced everything that California had to offer: amazing year-round weather, gorgeous beaches, adventurous hiking, delicious world cuisine, and wine, wine, wine!

My first wine weekend shortly after moving to California was an anniversary getaway to Los Olivos in Central Coast Wine Country, which is about 2-hrs outside of Los Angeles. I was instantly hooked! The drive up the 154 with ocean views over Santa Barbara that turn into rolling hills and vineyards made the hustle and bustle of LA disappear, and the laid-back wine community that I explored over 48-hrs left me thirsty for more (pun intended!).

A good wine tasting adventure is about so much more than just opening and enjoying a bottle of your favorite vino. It’s about exploring the environment that the wine came from, meeting with the wine makers and sharing their passion, and pairing your wine with delicious food.

I always love to “dress to impress” when heading out for a day of wine adventures, because photo opps with friends are always a must, and there’s nothing quite like rolling hills of grape vines to lend the perfect backdrop.I created CaliforniaSipping.com to share my love of California wines, and to celebrate the wine makers and vineyards that work so tirelessly to deliver an amazing experience. Whether you are planning a trip to California Wine Country, or just want to follow along vicariously, I hope that the people, places and experiences covered in this blog help you to fall in love with California wine.
